What is this wondrous sight I see
I rack my brain to remember thee
A glorious blue with a hue so deep
That stretches as far as the eye can see
Brings out colours all around the land
And makes the objects stand out proud

    Wispy clouds here and there
    Intersperse the blue so clear
Whilst the air is bitingly cold
It makes you really walk so bold
With a lightened step in the morning air
Make you feel good to be right here

What a way to start the day
With everything so clear and bright
Brings some colour back to your cheek
    After all those miserable weeks
Each day brings nearer that wonderful time
When spring comes across this beautiful land

    Motivation is what I need
To make me go out and have a good day
So what are the words I can use this day
To make me feel that I can play

First I think a smile, even though I don’t feel worthwhile
But stretching of my mouth that way
    Makes me feel almost halfway
What else is there I can use this way

Purity of thought now that’s a nice saying
Makes me relaxed without even trying
Just a good word for our fellow man
Will lighten our heart and even our mind

Now the hard bit I have got to do
Go out in the world to prove to you
That I’m not all talk I can walk the line
And this time I am going to have a good time

Around the town and through the park
I meet many people but none do talk
But with a smile and a cheery ‘Good Morning’
It soon becomes clear it’s better than moaning

The second day I try this way
A lot more people smile back and say
‘Good Morning’ to you and I hope you are well
That’s the best present that you could tell

Words are such a simple tool
But they cause so much to rue
Words said honestly but out of context
Cause so much pain and upset

They can be so beautiful too
Full of passion and love to view
Where the spoken word can come out wrong
A few written words can be like a song

Descriptive power for those eyes unseen
Capturing scenes for you you’d rather not see
But then again for those far away
They can capture the very essence of that day

To sit and write and put in order
To paraphrase or context to feed emotion
Can help to visualise so much for you
And thereby actually ‘see’ the view

So I write rather than talk
To understand my words to be spoke
For then the content is what I mean
And my embarrassment can not be seen

    Default Valentine

Maybe not a true message of motivation but on writing it it gave me a 'warm' feeling inside, this in itself gave me further inner strength!

Valentines Day is the day to express love
In words to remember from this day on
Flowers may die and memories fade
But words stay forever on the card they lay

A token is nice with words resplendent
Signed with love to your intended
As the days fade away your card will stay
As a reminder of all you meant to say

Years pass along and our features may change
But the depth of our feelings remain unrestrained
For now we’ve found that ultimate goal
Where friendship and love is an eternal soul

The greatest fight is the fight with oneself

And the quote in my signature
What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us

    A motivational talk for you
    With spring coming into view
Look out for the emerging flowers
Green shoots of life starting to tower

The twigs on trees seem fatter now
Buds are swelling by the hour
Bird life is coming flying in
    Wakening you as they sing

Cold crisp mornings still are here
Grey skies some time linger there
But the warmth can now be felt
As through the morning the frost does melt

Like with us the day starts dull
But with a little effort we can come through
Emerge to the world like that spring time flower
And refuse to let your mind stay dower

A sense of peace and tranquillity
There’s nothing here that bothers me
The air is still there is no sound
Well none of the artificial kind

A gurgling brook, a rustling bush
A bird flying up there high above
Squirrels as they leap and bound
All seem to hardly make a sound

But when you stand to look and listen
Sounds come from things usually hidden
Things you will not have realised
Have been happening before your eyes

That sense of peace and tranquillity
You’ve now found and it’s all around
Not just in the hills and mountains
But that in yourself, now you’ve found

Why is it that I can’t smile
And be happy with my ‘lot’ just for a while
What is the secret others seem to have
That makes their life a happy time

I have all the things they do
And yet I can’t seem to be happy too
    I worry about so much
I no longer seem in touch

The thing I feel I need
Is to talk and be just me
To be with others in companionship
Or am I making too big a list

With these words I feel I might be there
Although only in a literary air
But at least it feels like I can be me
And explain some things I need to be

I agree with you Enpi, especially for people in our situation. It is a constant fight within one's mind as you try and replace each negative thought with a corresponding positive thought, since they tell me that you can only hold one thought in your focus or mind at any one given time.

I once heard that our situation is a direct result of our most dominating thoughts. But what I find is that we need constant reminder of this in the form of a daily diet or boost of positive thinking. Especially given our negative environment. If you doubt this, pick up your daily newpaper, talk to your neighbour or watch the news on tv i.e bad news!

As one who knows the true benefit of this daily diet of self help, positive thinking material, I am currently thinking about providing a free newsletter for fellow sufferers where I would share some of the pearls of wisdom I have read that week with like minded people. I often find that when reading such material each day, it is uncanny how the right information or advice appears at just the right time!

Is this me being weird again or does anyone else have such feelings when reading self help books?

Sorry for rabbiting on a bit. Wishing you all a pleasant weekend as we look forward to Spring and a bit of sunshine.
